Biography
Dr. Collura brings over 45 years of experience as a biomedical engineer, neurophysiologist, and mental health counselor. His career has spanned clinical research, system design, and technological innovation in the fields of evoked potentials, microelectronics, human factors engineering, EEG mapping for epilepsy surgery, and neurofeedback therapy.
His interdisciplinary work integrates philosophy, psychology, biology, computer science, and electronics. His graduate research at Case Western Reserve University focused on real-time measurement of visual and auditory evoked potentials and their relationship to selective attention in vigilance tasks.
Following eight years at AT&T Bell Laboratories as a technical staff member and supervisor in integrated circuit technology, computer graphics, networking, and human-machine interfaces, Dr. Collura joined the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. From 1986 to 1996, he conducted research and development in EEG mapping for epilepsy surgery, long-term EEG monitoring, and DC brain potentials.
Since 1995, he has served as founder and president of BrainMaster Technologies, Inc., developing innovative EEG neurofeedback systems. He holds multiple U.S. patents in neurofeedback technology, electrode systems, and evoked potential methods. Since 2012, he has also served as Clinical Director of the Brain Enrichment Center, combining his engineering expertise with clinical mental health counseling.
