MIDI Error (General Protection Fault) if MIDI synthesizer is not installed in Windows and how to fix it

We re-installed Windows XP and ran the program.
We have a new problem though. We can go through the
following sequence and then the problem occurs:

The following sequence is fine:
Setup control menu->folder selection-> run the next
session->training session screen comes->when GO is
clicked-> you get MASTER window which states 'do you
want to use this session'.  When this is clicked,
another window comes stating MASTER ready to start
place electrodes F3-F4-A2 turn on module hit OK to
start Hit cancel to stop.

This is when the problem comes:
When you hit 'OK to start'after a short time  the wave
comes and then midi error (a few small windowsstating
the same are repeated) then a final window which
states
'Application error Master caused a General Protection
Fault in module. MASTER.EXE at 0005: C74F Choose
close. MASTER will close.  You have no choice but to
close it.
I tried with the test file in folder selection.  You
get midi error windows ( afew times and then it closes
automatically There is no general protection fault
window.'

This is caused by not having a valid MIDI synthesizer
driver installed.  You will need to check under
My Computer/ Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia
or something like that (It's different on different PC's)
and find the MIDI synthesizer entry.  Bill can help
talk you through it.  Once you get a valid driver
installed, these errors go away.
